Ironically The Golden Path was originally founded by Ajay's father, Mohan Ghale, and it seems that Sabal sees part of his destiny to be intertwined with that of Ajay. Unfortunately you cannot have a revolution without there being at least one other faction - and in this case the other faction is run by a ruthless warrior type named Sabal, whose rebel faction is called The Golden Path. After springing that revelation upon him, Ajay is left alone to absorb and contemplate that news - and that is when he has his escape, and our story finally gets started. Pagan brings Ajay to his fortress, explaining that he knew Ajay's mum and in fact was, at some point in their shared past, romantically involved with her. Upon arrival Ajay's bus is attacked by Amaka government Zulu forces - one of the factions - and Ajay and Darpan (the old man who serves as Ajay's guide) are subsequently taken prisoner by Pagan Min, the country's eccentric and violent king and self-proclaimed leader.
